If you do donate to my father’s scholarship, they request that you also shoot them an e-mail via their website letting them know to apply your donation to his scholarship. They will send me names of people who are donating, but the link does have a “general” feel to it. It is nonspecific to my father’s scholarship, though right now his is the focus. Their other scholarships are funded for 2021-2022 school year. It is a hitch in their system. I have contacted Mark Libbey and he knows about it. He said he would work with me as donations come in to identify the ones for my father. Some of you have already donated and I appreciate it! Some of you also contacted them and told them it was for Larry Fogelstrom. Just wanted to let everyone know the process. It was just set up yesterday.

Herc- we are establishing a yearly scholarship at Heritage in my father’s name. In order to fund it, we need to reach out to the community for donations. I know you have all the guys on an e-mail thread. I will get this thing going with all of you. Please forward as often as possible to anyone who knew my father. I would like to honor his memory each year by acknowledging a deserving student-athlete. I tried to keep it open to anyone who reminds me of my father and what he would have found admirable in a kid. Appreciate all your support.

Larry Fogelstrom Memorial Scholarship
Criteria:
A senior who has played a varsity sport and has shown “grit” and strong effort in the classroom and on the field.
Additional Criteria:
A one page essay (5oo word limit) where the student writes on the topic: Explain why grit and determination are defining factors in finding success in academics, athletics, and in adult life.
